DJI recently made an announcement to release the long awaited Mavic Air 2 which is the big brother of drone camera 4k original Mavic Air that was released in 2018. This is arguably the best DJI consumer drone till date; partly because of its ease to fly, improved battery life and amazing video quality. DJI Mavic Air 2 has all the features of the initial Mavic Air; but with new features, improved battery and a revamped remote controller.
The Mavic Air 2 is the first DJI consumer drone that is expected to warn you of nearby planes and helicopters via its controller. Feature is currently only limited to North America.
With an Incredible flight time of 34 minutes, the DJI Mavic Air 2 also benefits from a larger camera sensor and the addition of a timelapse feature that captures footage at up to 8K resolution. 8K Hyperlapse is a brand-new feature for a DJI drone and it allows you to transform time and movement in your shot. Real-time video can be recorded at up to 60 frames per second at a maximum of 4K, with the amazing 48 Megapixels.
Rather than the previous colours [White, Black, Red, etc.] from the Mavic Air, DJI opted for a one colour strategy with the Mavic Air 2; which gives it a premium look like the Mavic 2 Pro. Don’t be fooled by the similar look, these are still completely two separate drones. With so many options on the market, there is a drone for everyone regardless of the niche. The Mavic Series is a family of drones that are quite similar but has different features and serves different purposes. See the image below for our comparison of the last three releases of the DJI Mavic Series.
